Adult Education Courses

Jody Lynn has a regular schedule of courses through Shoreline Adult Education held at Morgan High School in Clinton. In Fall and Spring she offers at least these three courses:

Drawing for Beginners:
Learn to draw the basic shapes, like cubes, cones, and spheres, needed for creating still life, seasonal landscapes, and human figures artwork. An introduction to perspective will also be covered. Our supply list is basic. You’re welcome to use what you already have! Most items can be purchased locally at Ocean State Job Lot or Joanne’s Fabric. An HB or #2 Pencil, Drawing Pad, and Kneaded Eraser is recommended.

Watercolor Miniatures:
Using small paper and a limited palette, you’ll receive step-by-step instructions to create miniature works of art. Our supply list is basic. You’re welcome to use what you already have! Most items can be purchased locally at Ocean State Job Lot or Joanne’s Fabric. Paints, 3 brushes: 6, 8, 12 or 14 round are recommended. 

Intro to Painting:
Beginners and intermediate painters are welcome. Those new to oils and acrylics will learn basic techniques, color mixing, value, and application. More advanced artists will develop their skills through independent projects. Our supply list is basic. You’re welcome to use what you already have! Most items can be purchased locally at Ocean State Job Lot or Joanne’s Fabric. Paints, Paper, 3 brushes: 6, 8 round, 1/2″ flat are recommended. Other supplies for painting media, containers for water, paper towels, mixing tray or plates should be used.

Classes & Tutorials

Jody also leads pop-up classes at local venues, private tutorials for adults and children, studio classes, and summer en plein air groups.
